Caramel Kolang-kaling. |
Ingredients :
- 1 kg young kolang-kaling (Arenga pinnata)
- 1 sheet of pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius)
- 2 pieces of lime leaves
- 300 grams of sugar
- 200 milliliters of hot water
How to cook Caramel Kolang-kaling
1. Wash the Kolang-kaling until clean. Soak in water used to wash rice used for 2 hours for acidic aroma is lost. Rinse with clean water and drain.
2. Boil enough water in the pan. Add pandan leaves and lime leaves.
3. Cook the Kolang-kaling until boiling and the Kolang-kaling until tender. Lift and drain the Kolang-kaling.
4. Cook the sugar in a saucepan over low heat until all the sugar is melted and lightly browned.
5. Turn off the heat, pour hot water, stir until the sugar to dissolve and boil.

7. Remove and set aside until dngin.
